The Great Wind Debate 27th October, Newtown
Due to the number of wind farms and pylons that will need to be erected in Mid Wales, local residents have understandably become worried about the visual effects this will have on their area.
A number of people in Wales have started campaigning against the pylons and wind farms in general.
Yet if we don't embrace renewable energy, of which wind turbines are the most effective technology we have, then we will be stuck with either increased nuclear power, with its associated dangers, expense and difficulty dealing with the waste; or with fossil fuels and their associated toxic pollutants and emissions leading to global warming.
What should be done?
Come to the debate on Thursday 27th October in the Baptist Church in Newtown and have your say.
